The
1950s: in the difficult and challenging post-war years
Federico Florian sets up the company in Loria (Treviso). 1974: Federico Florian’s children start to
work in the company: they share their father’s interest in
wood. 1976: the company moves to its current premises
in Riese Pio X, a new production unit is built on a site covering
20,000 square metres. New equipment including a store house, lift
trucks and different means of transport is added. 1979: Florian purchases its first drying kiln,
marking a step forward in terms of improved production and company
qualification. 1980s: these are the years of the company expansion
and specialization in wood from hardwood forest. There is a great
increase in demand and consequently in the purchase of raw materials,
even from abroad. New dryers and equipment are constantly added.
Florian’s brothers become shareholders in the company. 1989: Florian purchases 12,000 square metres of
land adjacent to the company, and turns it into a timber yard. 1990: It is a year of innovation and important
investments. Florian becomes a public limited company and starts
producing panels: a new department is set up with latest specialized
machines, and staffed with specifically trained personnel who work
how in a completely new department specially equipped. 1992: The owners of Florian turn the yard into
an operational unit that includes a sawmill. The company purchases
an additional covered area of 7.000 square metres and 20.000 square
metres of land. 1994: The company is restructured in order to improve
and increase the production and the drying capacity. 1996: New offices are built to house marketing,
administration and forwarding departments. 1998:Florian installs the first High-Vaac system
in Italy. In the meantime the drying department becomes Europe’s
largest. 2000:Florian aims to make wood the undisputed protagonist
of the new millennium.
