Wood description:
American walnut colour is more uniform then the European one, its tone is purple-brown. Sapwood flow is vertical and more regular, trunks grow more on height.

Heartwood: from red-brown to dark-brown.

Vulnerable to wood-boring insects

permeable sapwood and not totally impermeable heartwood.

Drying: slow and with risk of colapse;
Planing: trouble-free;
Glueing: easy;
Nailing and screwing: easy;
Finishing: easy.
